The Flexican (born October 11, 1983 in Mexico City ; real name Thomás Goethals ) is a Dutch DJ . He is a member of the hip hop group Flinke Namen .
Life
Goethals was born in Mexico City in 1983. In 1992 his parents separated and he moved to the Dutch town of Buitenveldert with his mother and brother . When he developed further interest in music - especially rock music - he attended the SAE Institute in Amsterdam .
In 2004 he founded together with his friend Yousef Gnaoui the hip-hop group Nimble name . In 2008 he created his first mixtape called Op Volle Toeren (Dutch for with full speed ), in which the rap duo The Opposites also participated. Together with Major Lazer and FS Green he appeared on Busy Signals' single Watch Out for This (Bumaye) . The single was originally derived from the revived song Bumaye , which was originally written by him and the Dutch rapper Typhoon .
His pen name is a play on the words Mexican (due to the fact that he was born in Mexico) and flexible .
