The Ghost Busters is an American television series that was produced in 1975 and aired on CBS from 1975 to 1976 . Only one season with 15 episodes was produced. The series was directed by Norman Abbott (eight episodes) and Larry Peerce (seven episodes). The plot revolves around the two clumsy detectives Jake Kong and Eddie Spencer, as well as a gorilla named Tracy, who investigate ghost and monster phenomena.
The series has no relation to the 1984 movie Ghostbusters (although Columbia Pictures secured the naming rights from Filmation ), but one to the animated series Ghostbusters by Filmation (1986 to 1988), in which the sons Jake Kong Jr. and Eddie Spencer Jr., as well as Tracy the Gorilla go ghost hunting and are visited by their serial fathers.
action
Each episode begins with Jake, Eddie and Tracy going to a convenience shop to get new assignments in the form of tapes that contain a mission description. The tapes, alluding to Kobra, take over hidden in bicycles, typewriters, paintings and the like. The tape recordings always end with the note “This message will self-destruct in five seconds”. When it explodes, Tracy's face is blackened like a cartoon. Their research always brings them to the same old haunted castle outside the city, where they transport the ghosts with their dematerializers back into the afterlife .
