The Journal of Political Economy ( JPE ) is an economics journal. It has been published at the University of Chicago since 1892 and appears bimonthly. In terms of content, both basic research and application-related research are published.
reception
The JPE is one of the most cited journals among economists. The Dutch Tinbergen Institute gives it the highest category AA in its evaluation of economic journals. In addition to the JPE, only Econometrica , The American Economic Review , Quarterly Journal of Economics , Review of Economic Studies and the Journal of Finance achieve this rating. The magazine ranking of the British Association of Business Schools (2010), based on citations and reviews, ranks it in the highest category 4 alongside 16 other business journals . Another study by the French economists Pierre-Phillippe Combes and Laurent Linnemer ranks the journal in third place in the best AAA category.
