The Knob ( English for Der Knauf ) is a distinctive, dome-shaped and 40 m high headland near the western end of South Georgia . It lies on the west bank of Elsehul and separates Joke Cove in the west from Inner Bay to the east .
The headland was mapped and descriptively named by scientists from the British Discovery Investigations in 1930.
