The LA Complex (originally: Highland Gardens ) is a Canadian television series that has been produced for MuchMusic since 2012 . In March 2012, the station announced the production of another 13 episodes. In December 2012, the station announced the cancellation of the series.

action

The series is about young people who want to make their breakthrough in Hollywood and all live in the same apartment complex, the Motel The Luxory Suits (also called The Lux), in Los Angeles . At the beginning of the series, the young and unsuccessful actress Abby Vargas moves in. Her friends and family urge her to come home, but Abby is determined to make her breakthrough as an actress in LA. At the motel, she meets the dancer Alice Lowe, who works hard every day for a job as a professional dancer. She also meets Nick, Tariq, Raquel and Connor, who all also live at The Lux . Stand-up comedian Nick Wagner works in a diner and tries to get his stage anxiety under control. Tariq Muhammad works as an assistant in a recording studio and realizes that this will not make him famous. Actress Raquel Westbrook has appeared in a short-lived television series and doesn't want to see that she is no longer successful. Then there is Connor Lake, who finally got a lead role on a new series, but that also means he has to leave The Lux and leave his friends alone. Added to this are his psychological problems in dealing with other people and himself.
