The Locos (too dt .: The crazies ) are a Spanish ska-punk - band from Madrid .

Band history

Singer and front man Pipi

The Locos were founded in 2005 after Ska-P's showman and second singer Pipi announced the break . After a year of hiatus, Pipi announced that The Locos was now his band and that he didn't want to return to Ska-P for the time being. Formerly material intended for Ska-P was processed, but completely new songs were also written. The first published album was "Jaula de Grillos" which was released on May 9, 2006 in Spain and on June 2 of the same year in Germany. The lyrics are politically oriented, similar to Ska-P, current topics such as the suffering of refugees from Europe and climate change are dealt with musically.

The band, like Pipi himself, is very committed to social issues, so a video was made for the song "Resistiré", with which donations were collected for children in need. Clothes and donations in kind for orphanages in South America are regularly collected at concerts.

The first big tour "Gira Jaula de Grillos" took the band through almost all of Europe and South America, where they performed with bands like Asesinos Cereales , Sondaschule and No Relax .

The second album Energía inagotable (in German: Inexhaustible Energy ) was released in Germany on May 9, 2008, in Spain on April 14. The third album Tiempos difíciles (in German: Harte Zeiten ) was confirmed in August 2011 and is expected to be released in January 2012. This year the band will also give some concerts in Germany.
