The Marvel Action Hour was a block from the two television shows The Invincible Iron Man and The Fantastic Four with new adventures . Responsible was the production company Marvel Productions Ltd (as part of New World Entertainment ). The Marvel Action Hour first aired in 1994 and lasted two seasons.
concept
The first half hour consisted of the series The Invincible Iron Man , an adaptation of the comic Iron Man , the second half hour consisted of The Fantastic Four with New Adventures , an adaptation of the comic series of the same name . In the first season in particular, many episodes were remakes of the 1960 television series Die Fantastischen Vier . In the first season, Stan Lee , creator of both comics and head of Marvel Comics, spoke about each of the characters and explained what inspired him to create them.
The show aired differently in the UK . Since the BBC had no commercial breaks, the series would have only lasted 40 minutes there. To get to one hour, episodes of the 1980 cartoon series The Incredible Hulk were added.
season 2
Both cartoon series were radically revised after the first season, both in terms of the opening credits and the animations. In addition, the childish style of the series has been turned off. The consequences were now aimed at adolescents and young adults. Therefore the introductions by Stan Lee have been omitted.
In some markets, the second season was marketed under the name Marvel Action Universe (the name of the previous program in the 1980s). In some countries, the series Biker Mice from Mars has also been added.
Charisma
In the United States, the program was mainly broadcast by stations that belonged to the production company New World Pictures , but also on channels from Fox Broadcasting Company , The WB and Unity Broadcasting Network . Several independent stations also showed the program.
In German-speaking countries, the two series were broadcast separately and the supporting program was dispensed with.
