The menhir (English for The menhir is) a 395 m high and isolated monolith in the east of Coronation Iceland in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It towers on the west bank of Gibbon Bay .
Scientists from the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey conducted surveys between 1956 and 1958. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee gave the rock its descriptive name in 1959.
