The Necks

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Necks is a Ambient - Jazz trio from Sydney in Australia , which occasionally the Darkjazz is attributed. The musicians in detail are Chris Abrahams ( piano and Hammond organ ), Tony Buck ( drums ) and Lloyd Swanton ( electric bass and double bass ). The band plays longer improvised pieces that build on repetitions and developments of motifs and improvise them in an almost meditative way. Most of her recordings consist of a single track lasting about an hour.

The Necks are also known in Europe . One of their soundtracks (for the Australian drama The Boys) was nominated for various awards.
