The New Cities is a Canadian electronica / synthpop / rock band from Montréal, founded in 2005 .

Band history

The New Cities was founded in 2005 around singer David Brown. The remaining members are Christian Bergeron ( electric guitar ), Julien Martre ( bass , backing vocals), Nicolas Denis ( synthesizer ), Philippe Lachance (synthesizer), and Francis Fugère ( drums ). After a self-produced Extended Play in 2007, the band signed a contract with Sony Music . In 2009 the band released their debut album Lost in the City Lights with the singles Dead End Countdown and Leaders of the Misled . The album was produced by Greig Nori ( Sum 41 ) and Aex McMahon . In 2011 Kill the Lights followed , which was produced by the band and Blake Healy (ex- Metro Station ).

Music genre

The New Cities is an electropunk band with clear influences from pop music . The music is comparable to Metro Station and Forever the Sickest Kids .
