The Pinker Tones is a Spanish band formed in 2001 in Barcelona . It consists of Mister Furia , Professor Manso and DJ Niño . Their style is often assigned to pop music , but with a penchant for electropop and alternative approaches. In 2014 they announced their dissolution. Nevertheless, they continue to publish audiobooks, collaboration albums, and soundtracks on a regular basis.

style

The music genre of the Pink Tones is mainly composed of pop , funk , soul , swing and lounge . In doing so, they occasionally even combine several musical elements within a song and this in up to four different languages, including Spanish, French, English, but also German. Because of these characteristics, they were often represented internationally with their music and at concerts. They played in well over 300 shows in more than 40 countries worldwide.

Prehistory and foundation

Professor Manso and Mister Furia, who had already attended the university together and studied there at the same time, but had not seen each other for a long time, met by chance in the city until they finally found out that they lived only 500 meters away from each other. After they met for the fourth time, Furia Manso asked for help with a project to compose the background music for the TV series Once Upon a Time in Europe . Since Manso had excellent skills in dealing with digital production media, they decided to work together more often in the future.

First album: The Pink Connection

Since the collaboration was so successful, they met more often and it soon became clear that they had to put together a few songs for a debut album, since both of them had a dream of a life financed by their music. After going through a couple of busy sessions, they released The Pink Connection through a small local label. Contrary to expectations, the album quickly gained notoriety and now sold well internationally, so that they even entered the MTV dance charts with it and finally got international appearances with the help of a more well-known British label. As a result, the world stage was almost completely open to them.

Further successes and international breakthrough

In order to build on the successes of the first three albums, all of which were released between 2003 and 2004, and not to be forgotten, they quickly began to work on many other projects, including productions for other artists, soundtracks to films and Remixes. In addition, they began work on their fourth album The Million Color Revolution , which after its release lived up to all expectations and thanks to the collaboration of the British label Outstanding Records and their specially founded Pinkerland Records, it also spread internationally in more countries than any of their previous ones Could sell albums. They decided that they needed a live show because of the steadily increasing number of fans and therefore hired DJ Niño, thanks to whom they now had the opportunity to make music in the direction of rock, as well as electronic, and even live.

World stage

Their popularity became evident after touring different continents of the world and performing in countries such as B. China, South Africa and also Russia had.
