Forza Motorsport is a racing game for the Xbox - game console that of Microsoft has been developed. Since its release, the game has won numerous awards as a realistic racing game on a game console. The game was released in the USA on May 3, 2005 and in Germany on May 13, 2005. In 2007 the successor for the Xbox 360 appeared : Forza Motorsport 2 . The third installment in the series, Forza Motorsport 3 , was released in 2009, Forza Motorsport 4 went on sale on October 14, 2011.

Gameplay

A large number of users were amazed at the announcement of Forza , since Microsoft already had a popular racing game series called Project Gotham Racing (PGR) on the market. The biggest difference, however, was that Forza was driving more realistic, rural racetracks, and many of the PGR tracks were based in cities. Forza Motorsport was also more focused on accurate simulation , with PGR being more of an action racing game.

Forza is also known for its damage model, which realistically depicts both visual damage and changes in vehicle driving behavior. In contrast to the Gran Turismo series , this causes different gaming behavior, since every accident and collision requires a different driving style. It is also noticeable that the front spoiler and bumpers can be pulled down and windows crack. As with other racing games, however, the car manufacturers forbade the representation of rollover and serious accidents.

It is possible to drive cars of different makes, such as B. Aston Martin , Audi , BMW , Dodge , Ferrari , Jaguar , Mazda , Porsche or Volvo . In the game there are real routes such as B. Silverstone Circuit and Laguna Seca Raceway , as well as fictional, such as. B. Street courses through New York , Rio de Janeiro or through well-known landscapes such as the Alps . A highlight of the available routes is the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring .

Another special feature is the external modification of the cars, as a multitude of possibilities are offered here to modify the vehicle in the tuning mode or to change it with stickers and patterns.
