Forza Motorsport 3 is a racing simulation for the Xbox 360 developed and published by Microsoft . Forza Motorsport 3 is the successor to Forza Motorsport 2 , which was released in 2007 . The video game was released on October 23, 2009. Due to the large amount of data, the game was delivered on two discs. The Forza Motorsport 3 demo was released for download to Xbox Live members on September 24, 2009.
Gameplay
Forza Motorsport 3 is the successor to Forza Motorsport ( Xbox ) and Forza Motorsport 2 (XBox 360), a realistic car racing simulator that will be released exclusively for the Xbox 360. The game includes 400 modifiable cars from 50 manufacturers and over 100 racetracks.
Basically, the gameplay is adopted from Forza Motorsport 2, but some changes have been incorporated to make the game interesting for casual gamers as well. For example, it is possible to control the game with just one button when all driving aids are switched on. In addition, a rewind function was built in, which, similar to Race Driver: GRID, allows driving mistakes to be reversed. In addition, the game has been given a cockpit view for each of the cars and an improved editor. Furthermore, it is now also possible to create short films and publish them online.
Multiplayer
Two players can compete against each other on a console in the split screen . The possibility from the predecessor to network several consoles via LAN ("System Link") is no longer available. A new matchmaking system has been introduced online for multiplayer games . You can set up your own lobbies for private games, the rules of which can be adjusted.

There are additional vehicles on the X-Box Live Marketplace, e.g. B. Gumpert Apollo , Ferrari FXX as well as Mercedes SLS and SLR Stirling Moss .

The vehicles available in the game are divided into different classes using a performance index. The performance index is the sum of the maximum speed ( engine power and body shape ) and maneuverability ( chassis and total vehicle weight).
Compared to its predecessor, the racing car class is now divided into three (instead of four) sub-classes. Classes E and F have also been added. The indefinable performance class was renamed to X (previously U-class), but this can now only be achieved by modifying standard super sports cars and racing cars.

- 276–350 [D]: normal passenger cars (e.g. VW Golf GTI )
- 351–425 [C]: sporty passenger cars (e.g. Audi S4 )
- 426–500 [B]: normal sports cars (e.g. Honda NSX )
- 501–600 [A]: powerful sports cars (e.g. Chevrolet Corvette Z06 )
- 601–700 [S]: Super sports car (e.g. Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR )
- 701–800 [R3]: racing cars and heavily modified sports cars (e.g. Dodge Viper GTS-R )
- 801–900 [R2]: high-performance racing car (e.g. Porsche 911 GT1 )
- 901–998 [R1]: Prototype racing car (e.g. Audi R10 TDI )
- 999 [X]: Racing car with an indefinable performance index (not a standard vehicle; usually only achievable by increasing the engine power)

FM3 Ultimate Collection
Contains all previously released DLCs, so there are over 500 cars available. There is also a download card with a dashboard theme, a video from TopGear and three extra vehicles that are only included in the Ultimate Collection, including the Mercedes SLS AMG, Königsegg CCX and the Lexus LFA .
