Forza Motorsport 7 (often just called Forza 7 ) is a racing game for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One and the seventh part of the Forza series. In the game you contest numerous racing series with a large selection of cars. It was developed by Turn 10 Studios and published by Microsoft Studios . The game first appeared on October 3, 2017 in early access for pre-orderers of the Ultimate or Deluxe Edition .

Gameplay

The game is a racing simulation with more than 700 cars. In addition, there are more than 200 different ways to lay your routes and 32 locations. Some were taken over from the old Forza parts. Dynamic weather as well as the ability to customize the driver have been added. In contrast to the Xbox version, the PC version does not have a split screen option. In a career mode you have to face six major championships from 15 events.

Development and publication

Already in mid-January 2017, a demo of the game on a prototype of the successor console Xbox One, Xbox One X shown. There it should run in a 4K2K resolution and a frame rate of 60 frames per second. Toyota models could not be integrated this time for licensing reasons.

The game was officially confirmed for the first time at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 press conference on June 11th. On October 3, 2017, the game first appeared in early access for pre-orderers of the Ultimate or Deluxe Edition for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One. Other DLC content and updates followed .

Forza Motorsport 7 received largely positive reviews. Mainly the realistic and detailed game world and the illustration of the many cars, controls, tuning , the graphics and the driving experience were praised . In the demo version, however, the high memory requirements as well as technical and performance errors were criticized. The use of loot boxes to generate additional income was also criticized, as well as the menu music, too few multiplayer options and that the game is not for everyone who does not know what to do with racing simulations.
