Stars in the Euro NCAP - Crash Test (2012) |
The ninth generation Honda Civic was produced from autumn 2011 and has been available in Germany since the beginning of 2012. The model specially developed for Europe was presented for the first time at the IAA 2011. The successor model has been available in Germany since March 2017, the station wagon was discontinued at the end of 2017 without replacement.
The Acura ILX , introduced in 2012, is based on the ninth generation of the Civic.
history
The hatchback sedan first went on sale on February 11, 2012. It was offered only as a five-door as the predecessor was requested the three-door too little. Only the Type R was able to sell enough vehicles before it was discontinued at the end of 2010.
At the market launch, there were three engines to choose from, including two petrol and one diesel engine. The two gasoline engines work on the suction principle , so they are not charged with the help of a compressor or turbocharger . The smaller petrol engine has an output of 73 kW (99 PS) from 1.3 liters of displacement (referred to as "1.4"), the larger of 1.8 liters of displacement of 104 kW (141 PS). The 2.2 liter common rail diesel engine has a maximum output of 110 kW (150 hp).
In January 2013, the engine range was expanded to include a newly developed 1.6 liter common rail diesel engine with an output of 88 kW (120 hp) and a standard consumption of around 3.6 l per 100 km. The power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. A 5-speed automatic transmission is also available for the 1.8-liter gasoline engine.
Body versions
In addition to the five-door model, the Civic was also introduced as a notchback sedan (in two trim levels and five colors) in the summer of 2012. Until then, this had only been offered in Eastern Europe.
In spring 2013 a station wagon (Civic Tourer ) was presented as a concept vehicle; it was designed by the Vercarmodel Saro design studio . The series version was presented in autumn 2013 and introduced across Europe on February 1, 2014. It was built from December 12, 2013 at the Honda factory in Swindon, England.
Facelift
In October 2014, a revised Civic was presented at the Paris Motor Show, which has been available since January 2015.
It can be recognized by the modified front and rear sections with different sills, LED headlights (LED taillights and black spoiler on the hatchback), new seat covers and chrome door handles. There is also a Civic Sport again , which is available with the 1.8-liter gasoline engine or the 1.6-liter diesel engine. Further features of the Sport are a honeycomb grill, black 17 ″ alloy wheels and a rear spoiler painted in the same color as the car. The headliner is black.
