The Honda FR-V ( F amily- and R ecreation- V ehicle) was a six-seater compact van from the Japanese car manufacturer Honda .
The sales start of the FR-V with petrol engines was on January 15, 2005. On June 1, 2005, Honda presented a diesel version of the FR-V, which will be available from the summer .
From January 2007 a revised model with a new petrol engine was available on the market.
In autumn 2009 the vehicle was discontinued without a successor model.
Engines
Honda offered the FR-V in three different engine variants: a 1.7 l VTEC , a 2.0 l i-VTEC and the 2.2 l i-CTDi diesel engine. The latter received the “Engine of the Year award 2005” in the class of engines with a displacement of 2.0 to 2.5 liters. From the facelift in January 2007 there was only the diesel engine (now with a particle filter) in the program; the two petrol engines were replaced by a 1.8 liter i-VTEC engine, which is also used in the Honda Civic. All engines meet the Euro 4 standard and are 4-cylinder in- line engines .
