The Honda BR-V is an SUV from the Japanese car manufacturer Honda , which is based on the Honda Mobilio and is sold in emerging countries such as India , Indonesia and South Africa .

history

In August 2015, the Honda BR-V Prototype concept vehicle was presented at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show . From January 2016, the production vehicle was introduced as a five- or seven-seater mainly in Southeast Asia . It has also been available in South Africa since October 2016. The market launch in Mexico took place in mid-2018 .

In April 2019, Honda presented a revised version of the BR-V.

The abbreviation BR-V stands for B old R unabout V ehicle .

Technical specifications

The SUV is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine with 88 kW (120 PS). The BR-V is only available with front-wheel drive . A 6-speed manual transmission is available as standard, and a continuously variable transmission as an option. In addition, a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 74 kW (100 PS) is only available in India .
