The Honda Life is a kei car from the Japanese car manufacturer Honda .

The first generation was as three- and five-door hatchback , as a three-door station wagon , five-door Van called Step Van, and two-door pickup offered. It was powered by a 27 kW (36 hp) two-cylinder engine with a displacement of 356 cm³.

In 1997, the Honda name Life was revived for a completely new model. The new model was powered by the front wheels and looked like a shrunk van as this design is very popular with the Japanese . It was powered by a 3-cylinder because the tax ratings in Japan were set in such a way that models with such small engines were favored. They are called kei cars .

The third generation, built from 1998 onwards, was larger than the second generation. The length of the car was exactly 3395 mm. The car had to be kept under 3.4 meters, otherwise it would no longer count as a kei car . In 2000 the 3rd generation was facelifted.
In December 2000, a turbo-charged version called Life Dunk was also released.

In 2003 the fourth generation of the Life came out of the Japanese market. Now it was powered by a 660 cm³ 3 cylinder. An optional turbocharger, 4-speed automatic and all-wheel drive were also available.
In 2005 the Life Diva came onto the market, a special version with an aerodynamic body kit and aluminum rims.

In November 2008 the fifth generation of the Life came on the market. It was available as: C, G, Pastel, Pastel Turbo, Diva and Diva Turbo. The Life was powered by a 38 kW (52 PS) 3-cylinder or a 47 kW (64 PS) 3-cylinder (only available for the Pastel and Diva models). Both engines had a displacement of 658 cc. A 4-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive was also offered here as an option. In addition, a navigation system , air conditioning or automatic climate control , wind deflectors for the side windows, fog lights , a body kit, heated seats and much more were on the surcharge list.
