Honda NSX Concept at the IAA 2013

The third generation of Honda NSX is a mid-engine hybrid sports car the Japanese automaker Honda , which in Marysville (Ohio) in the United States will be developed and produced. The drive train was developed in Tochigi , Japan , and is manufactured in Anna, Ohio . Around 1500 vehicles are to be produced annually. In North America and China, the vehicle is sold under the Acura brand name . The model of the same name built between 1990 and 2005 is considered the predecessor .

history

The first production vehicle was on January 29, 2016, about 1.2 million US dollars sold. It has been available in Germany since April 2016 at a price of around € 180,000; the first models were delivered in autumn 2016. In August 2018, a revised version of the NSX was presented. The facelift includes a revised chassis, new tires and new colors. The drive has also been optimized.

Motorsport

In addition, Honda developed a racing car based on the NSX according to the FIA GT3 regulations . From 2017, this was initially only used in North America. Hence the racing car is called the Acura NSX GT3 . Due to the GT3 regulations, Honda has to forego all-wheel drive and hybrid drive in the NSX GT3 .
