The Honda Mobilio Spike is a seven-seater minivan from Honda . The first model generation was produced for the domestic market from 2001 to 2008. Honda's Global Small Platform with the i-DSI engine was used for the vehicle . In May 2008 the Mobilio Spike was replaced by the Honda Freed .
The Honda Mobilio Spike was designed for leisure activities. It was first introduced in Japan on September 19, 2002 and was Honda's third model in the Little Max series. Because of its outdoor marketing positioning, it was sold at Honda Verno locations in Japan . The presented Mobilio Spike had a spacious loading area that could be configured in 5 modes: utility, long, twin, refresh and setting mode.
The 1.5L VTEC engine was designed for both power and fuel consumption. The Japanese Ministry of Transport classified the Mobilio Spike as an "excellent low emissions" vehicle. The Honda S Multimatic CVT transmission was presented with the new model . This is Honda's latest generation of CVT transmissions with a 7-speed mode. This offers three driving programs: CVT; 7-speed automatic mode and 7-speed gearshift program. Four wheel drive was also available.
The Mobilio Spike also included Honda's G-CON (G-Force Control) technology for improved crash safety . The body was developed to offer protection for the occupants in the event of a 55 km / h frontal collision and also in the event of a 50 km / h rear impact. To improve recycling, almost all of the internal injection molded parts are made from olefin resin. Together with other measures, this resulted in a general vehicle recyclability of over 90 percent.
In autumn 2013, the Honda Mobilio, a seven-seater van for the Asian market, was presented.
