The Honda e is an electrically powered small car from the Japanese manufacturer Honda . The design of the vehicle intended for the Japanese and European market is reminiscent of the first Honda Civic from 1972 with its retro look .

history

The Honda e is based on the electric powered concept vehicle Honda EV Concept , which was shown to the public in September 2017. The production version was first presented as the Honda e at the 2019 International Motor Show in Frankfurt. The price for the model that has been available to order since September 2019 is quoted by the company at € 33,850. The purchase premium granted by the state for electric cars in Germany is not yet taken into account. The first models were handed over to customers in March 2020. The manufacturer has announced that it will switch its new vehicle range for the European market to electrified drives (hybrid and electric) by 2025.

Technical specifications

The Honda e , whose electric motor drives the rear axle, is available in two output levels: the Honda e with an output of 100  kW (136 hp) and the Honda e Advance with 113 kW (154 hp). The maximum torque in both versions is 315  Nm ; the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is given as 9.0 or 8.3 seconds. The lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 35.5 kWh allows, according to the manufacturer, a range of up to 220 km. Not least in order to maintain the range, the top speed is limited to 145 km / h in both engine variants. The connection for the charging cable is hidden under the front hood.

Furnishing

The dashboard consists mainly of five displays that take up the entire width of the interior and replace conventional displays. Two 12.3-inch dual touchscreens serve as a display for networked applications and for operating the infotainment system . The screens of the side external cameras, which replace the classic rear-view mirrors, are inserted on the outer edges. The rear view camera monitor is located in the same position as the conventional interior mirror. The door handles of the vehicle are sunk flush in the body.
