Burkhard Bamberger

Burkhard Bamberger (born December 20, 1964 in Bad Mergentheim ) is a German manager . He was CFO of Loewe AG from 1998 to 2006 and Group CFO of Douglas Holding AG from 2006 to 2013.

Career

After Bamberger had passed the Abitur at the Deutschordens Gymnasium Bad Mergentheim, he studied business administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg . In 1994 he did his doctorate on The Success of Corporate Acquisitions in Germany: A Theoretical and Empirical Research . In 1995 Bamberger passed the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam in the US state of Montana .

Bamberger was a manager at KPMG in Frankfurt and Chicago. He worked in corporate finance for more than eight years, overseeing mergers and acquisitions . He then moved to Loewe AG (SDAX) as CFO and was responsible for its IPO. He was then Group CFO of Douglas Holding AG (MDAX) for nine years . After the takeover by Advent International , the Douglas , Thalia , Christ, Appelrath Cüpper and Hussel group were delisted and broken up. After retiring from the stock exchange, he taught corporate finance at the International School of Management and the European Business School. Furthermore, he accompanies strategic financial issues as an advisory board in several companies. He has been the non-executive director and interim CFO of the Another Monday Group since May 2018.

Burkhard Bamberger is married and has three sons.

Bamberger is chairman of the board of the Medardus Foundation. The foundation received special attention in May 2019 after donating 100,000 euros to the hospice in Lüdenscheid.
