history

The V60 was presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 2010 .

As with the S60, four petrol engines (T3, T4, T5 and T6) and four diesel engines (D2 [1.6D DRIVe], D3, D4, D5) were offered. Furthermore, a flexi-fuel unit called “T4F” was available for vehicles with engine code “MC10” (designation at VOLVO for intracommunotary models) with an output of 132 kW. The V60 also had the City Safety System used in the XC60 and S60 as standard. This automatically initiated emergency braking up to a speed of 30 km / h (from 2012 up to 50 km / h) if a collision threatened.

V60 D6 Twin Engine (plug-in hybrid)

In the run-up to the Geneva Motor Show 2011, Volvo presented a study of a diesel plug-in hybrid of the V60. From 2012, the vehicle could be ordered in Germany from around € 57,000 from an initial small series of 1000 pieces. In addition to a diesel engine with 158 kW (215 hp) that drove the front wheels, a 50 kW electric motor was used on the rear axle, which implements all-wheel drive with 200 Nm. However, the calculated consumption of 1.8 l diesel over the first 100 km (48 g CO 2 emissions) also included running a battery with 11.2 kWh nominal capacity empty over the first 50 km, which in the current test cycle has a consumption of 0 is set. The consumption on long journeys is considerably higher.

Facelift

In mid-2013, Volvo subjected the V60 to a facelift, in which the headlights were combined into one unit. The chrome surround of the radiator grille, which now has four instead of three slats, has been omitted.

In addition, the design of the front apron has been changed so that the clear visual separation between the middle lower air intake and the outer one is softened. As in the Volvo V40, digital instrumentation is now also offered. There were also changes to the driver assistance systems: the BLIS blind spot system was no longer based on cameras under the exterior mirrors, but on radar sensors in the rear bumper. It also recognized rearward cross traffic when pulling out of a parking space (Cross Traffic Alert). The dual xenon headlights with cornering lights were offered with cornering lights and intelligent high beam assistant. The active speed system recognized pedestrians and cyclists.

The four-cylinder engines introduced in 2013, such as the D4 diesel engine, were in-house designs.

Technical specifications

The engine range is the same as that of the Volvo S60, but the consumption differs in that smaller engines have an increased consumption while the larger engines have a reduced consumption.

history

The second generation of the V60 was presented in Stockholm on February 21, 2018 and had its public premiere at the 88th Geneva Motor Show in early March 2018. Volvo specified the summer of 2018 as the time for the market launch and estimated prices from 40,100 euros. Compared to the previous model, the new V60 is around 13 centimeters longer and is based on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, which was introduced with the second generation of the XC90 . The S60 sedan followed at the end of 2018. The second generation of the V60 received the “autonis Award” from Auto Motor und Sport for its design .

technology

A special technical detail of the R-Design line, in addition to heating the steering wheel, are heated wiper blades.

Engines

On the drive side, a 184 kW (250 PS) or 228 kW (310 PS) two-liter gasoline engine and a two-liter diesel engine with 110 kW (150 PS) or 140 kW (190 PS) are available for the market launch. Two plug-in hybrid variants followed later with a system output of 251 kW (340 PS) or 288 kW (390 PS). In contrast to the previous model, a gasoline engine is now used here. In addition, performance-enhanced versions of Polestar have been available since October 2018 .
