The Koenigsegg Agera is a super sports car that the Swedish vehicle manufacturer Koenigsegg produced in different versions. It is the successor to the Koenigsegg CC and in turn the predecessor of the Koenigsegg Jesko , which replaced the Agera in 2019. The Koenigsegg One: 1 is its sister model.
Models
A total of 53 Agera were built from 2011 to 2018, including five Agera S, 18 Agera R, 25 Agera RS and three Agera Final.
In order to underline the exclusivity, Koenigsegg offers its customers the option of giving their vehicles their own names for an additional charge. This explains the great variety of names, although officially there are only five different Agera models.
With the introduction of the Agera at the latest, the Koenigsegg fan community established that vehicles were identified by their chassis numbers. The last three consecutive digits are used. For example, the first Agera built has the # 077. In rare cases the fourth from the last digit is also given, but it is always a 7.
In 2010 the Koenigsegg Agera was voted Hypercar of the Year by Top-Gear .
Agera
The first Koenigsegg Agera was presented in 2010. It is technically based on the CCX , but got a redesigned body, a new interior and a new engine. The vehicle has a monocoque made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (KFK) to make it as light as possible. It weighs 70 kg including the tank and at the same time is extremely torsion-resistant at 65 kNm / °. All parts are manufactured in the factory in Ängelholm, Sweden .
# 088 Agera X
This special edition of the Agera with chassis number # 088 was presented at the Top Marques in Monaco in spring 2012 . The body is painted matt black - with the two red stripes typical of the series. Technically, the Agera X is the same as the "normal" Agera. In autumn 2012 the only existing Agera X was for sale on jameslist.com. The price was 888,888 euros, which is probably an allusion to the production number (88) of this eighth built Agera - without counting the prototypes.
Agera R
The engine newly developed by Koenigsegg for the Agera R has an output of 838 kW (1140 hp). It also achieves this performance with the E85 ( biofuel ), since the engine management has enough reserves for injection volume (E85 with 85% ethanol content has a lower energy density, so more fuel is required to achieve the same performance). Disc brakes are used to decelerate . The brake discs are made of carbon-ceramic , in the front in the format 397 × 40 mm with six-piston fixed calipers and in the rear 380 × 34 mm with four pistons each. Theoretically, a maximum speed of 440 km / h can be achieved, but the car is limited to 415 km / h or 400 km / h (for road traffic).
In 2014, a replica of the Agera R became the star of the video game film, Need for Speed .
The 2013 models are - announced - the first series vehicles to be made with KFK wheels. They are made in one piece. Compared to the lightest alloy wheels of the same size available on the market, around 40% of the mass could be saved.
Between 2011 and 2014, 18 Agera Rs including all special versions were produced.
# 083 Agera R Speed Racer
This vehicle was given a special paint job based on the Mach 5 from the 1960s anime series Speed Racer . It was also equipped with the optionally available ski box.
# 086 Agera R Super Velocity
On September 2, 2011, six world records were set with this vehicle during test drives on Koenigsegg's own test track in Ängelholm . These included:
0-300 km / h in 14.53s
300–0 km / h in 6.66s
0-300-0 km / h in 21.19s
The last one, an acceleration from standstill to 300 km / h with subsequent emergency braking back to standstill in 21.19 seconds, was included in the Guinness Book of Records .
# 092 Agera R Artico
The Agera R Artico was the first Agera to be built to US specifications. The car spent some time in the USA, but could not initially be approved for American road traffic due to problems with the American registration authorities. Due to the severe delays, the original buyer canceled the car shortly before delivery. It was then brought back to Sweden and converted to right-hand drive .
# 093 Agera R BLT
This special version was made on the basis of the Agera R in 2012 at the request of a Chinese customer. Special features of this edition are the transparent painted body with red details, the blue interior and the KFK rear spoiler. The engine comes from the 2013 Agera R. It is the first Koenigsegg to have the name given by the customer as an emblem on the vehicle.
# 094 Agera R Zijin
At the beginning of 2013 another unique piece based on the Agera R was presented with the “Zijin”. The exterior was configured by the Chinese customer in a purple paint with gold stripes and carbon fiber elements. The technology in this special model is unchanged from the 2013 Agera R.
# 096 Agera R King
Presented at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2013, it was then delivered to its buyer. It is painted matt white with elements made of exposed carbon and accents in light blue.
# 097 Agera R Sheng
It was presented at the Shanghai Auto Show together with # 096. Its body was painted a light blue, with exposed carbon elements and accents in white.
Agera S.
The Agera S is technically largely the same as the Agera R, but with the difference that the S version was developed for countries where biofuels (E85-E100) are not generally available. The engine of the Agera S has an output of 758 kW (1030 PS) and delivers a maximum torque of 1100 Nm when the engine is operated with Super Plus (98 RON).
A total of five Agera S were produced between 2012 and 2014.
# 099 Agera HH
The Agera HH is the second Agera built according to the requirements for the American market. In order to achieve homologation, airbags and rear-view mirrors were adopted from the previous CCX model . In contrast to the buyer of the Agera R Artico, the buyer of the HH stuck to his order and was able to receive the car with a delay of almost a year. This made the Agera HH the first legally approved Agera in the USA.
# 100 Agera S Hundra
With the "Hundra" (German Hundred ) Koenigsegg presented its anniversary model at the Geneva Motor Show 2013 for the hundredth super sports car produced and the ten-year existence of the company. The unique piece based on the Agera S has a KFK body with decorations made of 24-carat gold. The car has already been sold for around 1.6 million euros. The buyer is believed to be from Hong Kong which would explain the right hand drive configuration.
Agera RS
The Agera RS was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015 and - although it was developed for the racetrack - can also be approved for public roads. The Agera RS is limited to 25 units, ten of which were pre-ordered at the launch. Ten months later, Koenigsegg announced that all copies had been sold. The Agera RS could optionally be equipped with the 1360 hp engine of the One: 1 .
On October 1, 2017, the Agera RS undercut the 0–400–0 speed record that had only been set three weeks earlier by the 1500 hp Bugatti Chiron , with 36.44 seconds by over 5 seconds. It took 26.88 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 400 km / h and a further 9.56 seconds to come to a standstill. The record of October 1, 2017 was repeated with the same vehicle on November 11, 2017 on a closed road in the US state of Nevada and was broken with a total time of 33.29 seconds. It took him 24.0 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 400 km / h (distance required approx. 1740.2 m). Another 9.29 seconds passed before it came to a standstill (distance required approx. 499.3 m).
Furthermore, the Agera RS set the current speed record for production cars in November 2017. Koenigsegg works driver Niklas Lilja achieved an average top speed of 447.23 km / h (277.9 mph) in two races in the Nevada desert. In the fastest of the two trips, a top speed of 457.49 km / h (284.27 mph) was recorded.
A customer vehicle with the 1MW engine upgrade was used for the record drives in 2017, in which a total of five records were set.
