The Koenigsegg Gemera is a super sports car from the Swedish car manufacturer Koenigsegg .
history
The Gemera should be presented on March 3, 2020 as part of the Geneva Motor Show . Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the auto salon was canceled on February 28, 2020, but Koenigsegg still decided to present the sports car in the exhibition halls. However, hardly any people were present, as all events with more than 1000 people were prohibited in Switzerland at that time. The performance was also broadcast live on the Internet.
background
Christian von Koenigsegg's mother had the idea for the name : “ge mera” comes from Swedish and means “to give more” when translated into German . The model is limited to 300 copies.
properties
The Gemera is the first Koenigsegg model with four seats that can be reached via two scissor doors . Due to the large door opening, the front seats do not have to be adjusted to reach the rear seats. The luggage compartment volume is specified as 200 liters. The super sports car dispenses with classic mirrors for the rear view. Instead, cameras provide a view of the interior. Koenigsegg calls the vehicle the Mega GT .
drive
The super sports car is powered by a two-liter twin-turbo in-line three-cylinder petrol engine with 440 kW (600 hp) in combination with three electric motors . Two of them are attached to a rear wheel each, one sits on the crankshaft . Koenigsegg describes the internal combustion engine, which supplies the power to the front axle, with the "Tiny Friendly Giant" ( English : "tiny friendly giant" ). The system output of the vehicle is 1250 kW (1700 PS) when using E85 biofuel . Koenigsegg uses a direct drive input gearbox for power transmission. A lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 16.6 kWh, which enables an electric range of up to 50 km, is located in the vehicle floor. The top speed of the Gemera is given as 400 km / h, it should accelerate to 100 km / h in 1.9 seconds.
