The Koenigsegg Regera is a plug-in hybrid - super sports car of the Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg and was in 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show in Geneva presented. Deviating from the previous Koenigsegg philosophy of building extremely light super sports cars, it was designed as a luxurious vehicle.

Name and plans

"Regera" comes from the Swedish and means "to rule". 80 copies will be built.

technology

Drive unit of the Regera

The car is equipped with a 189 kg V8 engine with two turbochargers . The engine block and cylinder heads are made of an aluminum alloy. The engine has a displacement of 5065 cm³ (bore × stroke = 92 mm × 95.25 mm), four valves per cylinder and dry sump lubrication . The turbines of the loader are equipped with adjustable guide vanes and the rotor ( shaft with turbine and compressor wheel ) is mounted in ceramic ball bearings. The maximum boost pressure is 1.4 bar. The engine output is 820 kW (1115 hp), which is delivered at 7800 rpm. The highest torque is 1280 Nm at 4100 rpm. The Regera has three electric motors with a total output of 525 kW (714 hp) and a torque of 870 Nm. An electric motor with 160 kW and 300 Nm sits directly in front of the V8 engine on the crankshaft. The two other electric motors each have an output of 180 kW and a maximum torque of 260 Nm. They sit to the left and right of the differential on the drive axle and thus enable yaw control on the rear axle. The Regera has a range of 50 km purely electrically. The total output is over 1110 kW (1509 hp) with a torque of over 2000 Nm. The Koenigsegg Regera has no manual transmission. The engine is flanged to the rear axle via a specially developed aluminum torque converter with a lock-up clutch and an axle ratio of 2.85: 1. The 115 kg liquid-cooled battery is housed in the center tunnel. It works with a nominal voltage of 620 V and has a nominal capacity of 9.27 kWh. The battery can briefly deliver 500 kW and can be charged with 150 kW during regenerative braking; according to the manufacturer, the battery has 4.5 kWh and 800 volts.

The chassis made of sandwich panels with outer layers of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP, “carbon fiber”) and an aluminum honeycomb core accommodates the two petrol tanks with a total capacity of 82 liters. The coupé body is also made of plastic reinforced with carbon and aramid fibers . It has two scissor doors that, like the front and rear flaps, are operated electro-hydraulically. The front track is 1700 mm, the rear 1650 mm. The CFRP wheels have 275/35 × 19 ″ tires at the front and 345/30 × 20 ″ tires at the rear. The wheel carriers are made of aluminum. The car has ventilated disc brakes with ceramic discs (front diameter: 397 mm, rear diameter: 380 mm).

Performance

The Regera has a top speed of 410 km / h and it takes 2.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h. The Regera accelerates from 0 to 200 km / h in 6.6 seconds and from 0 to 300 km / h in 10.6 seconds. From a standing start, he can reach 400 km / h in under 20 seconds. For the acceleration from 150 km / h to 250 km / h Koenigsegg gives a time of 3.9 seconds.
