The D8 GTO is currently the only model from the Dutch car manufacturer Donkervoort . It has been sold since 2013. To achieve the lowest possible curb weight of 700 kg is the Roadster - the body of the D8 GTO made with carbon and aramid fiber reinforced plastic . The “hybrid” chassis consists of a tubular space structure that is reinforced with panels made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic. All wheels are individually suspended on double wishbones and have coil springs with adjustable hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers . The steering works without power assistance with a pinion and rack . The disc brakes on all wheels have internally ventilated brake discs. Electronic aids such as the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and vehicle dynamics control (ESP) are not used. The sports car is powered by a turbo-charged in-line five-cylinder with a displacement of 2.5 liters from Audi , which is also used in the RS3 . The engine in the D8 GTO delivers between 254 and 310 kW and has a maximum torque between 450 and 550 Nm.

D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition

In September 2014, the D8 GTO Performance on the Bilster Berg in Pömbsen was able to set a new lap record for production cars with road approval with 1 minute and 46.12 seconds. On the occasion of this achievement Doonkervoort presented the special model D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition , limited to 14 copies . This was available from 194,000 euros.

D8 GTO-RS

The special model D8 GTO-RS , limited to 40 copies, has been available since summer 2016 . This has a new wheel suspension and a wider track on the front axle. The braking system has also been improved. The GTO-RS accelerates to 100 km / h in 2.7 seconds, and Donkervoort has a top speed of 280 km / h. The basic price for the market launch in Germany was 179,896 euros.

D8 GTO-40

In May 2018 Donkervoort presented the D8 GTO-40 , which is to be built forty times on the occasion of the company's 40th anniversary. With a curb weight of 678 kg, the special model is the lightest model in the series.

D8 GTO-JD70

On the occasion of the 70th birthday of the company's founder Joop Donkervoort, the company presented the special model D8 GTO-JD70 limited to 70 copies in June 2020 . Thanks to the new exhaust system layout, in which the exhaust ends on the right-hand side in front of the rear wheels, and the elimination of the rear tailpipes, a new diffuser could be installed at the rear, which provides an additional 800 Newton more downforce. The new air outlets in the front fenders allow the incoming air to escape in a controlled manner. This enabled a further 500 Newtons of downforce to be generated. With these measures, the GTO-JD70 should achieve a maximum lateral acceleration of 2 g when cornering . The GTO-JD70 accelerates to 100 km / h in 2.7 seconds, and the manufacturer specifies a top speed of 280 km / h.
