The Lotus 3-Eleven is the successor to the Lotus 2-Eleven, which was built until mid-2011 .
history
The roadster , which was sold from March 2016 and the number of which is limited to 311 copies, was announced at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June 2015. It was presented at the IAA 2015 in Frankfurt am Main .
technology
The monocoque frame of the 3-Eleven is glued together from extruded aluminum profiles and sheets. The adhesive points are secured against peeling with rivets. The doorless body is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic . A cover for the passenger seat is available at an additional cost, which reduces the flow resistance of the otherwise open cockpit.
The car is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine from Toyota , which Lotus also uses in the Evora . It is available in two versions, a 306 kW (416 hp) road version with a six-speed manual gearbox and a 343 kW (466 hp) race version with a sequential six-speed gearbox from Xtrac, both with a torsion lock differential. The supercharged engine is installed transversely behind the seats and drives the rear wheels. The race version reaches a top speed of 280 km / h, the road version 290 km / h.
The wheels are individually suspended on double wishbones , and stabilizers are installed on both axles. The wheels (front 18, rear 19 inches) are forged, the front wheels have 225/40-ZR18 tires, and 275/35-ZR19 tires are fitted to the rear. The brake works as standard with an anti-lock braking system and brake servo. Internally ventilated disc brakes are located on all wheels.
3-Eleven 430
In February 2018, Lotus presented the 3-Eleven 430 limited to 20 copies . Compared to the road version, the engine's output has been increased to 321 kW (436 hp). The special model accelerates to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 290 km / h.
