action
The Pirate Queen is based on a historical event and takes place in Ireland and England in the late 16th century. The Irish Grace O'Malley takes on Queen Elizabeth I of England, who is conquering Ireland with her troops. At that time Ireland was divided among different clans, in the course of the plot Grace succeeds in uniting the clans and with her as leader to fight the invaders.
Together with her supporters, she goes to sea and leads several attacks against the English fleet herself. In the midst of the turmoil, Grace falls in love with a sailor, but for political reasons she is told to marry the leader of another clan. However, he is only out for his personal gain and disappoints everyone who has confidence in him. Ultimately, Grace is arrested and imprisoned. When it comes to a direct confrontation with the English queen, she realizes that she is facing a strong-willed and similar independent personality. On the condition that Ireland is always loyal and obedient to the English crown, Elizabeth releases the prisoner.
