The Romance of Helen Trent ( English The Romance of Helen Trent ) is the only studio album by the metalcore band The Killing Tree . It was released on June 22, 2002 by the One Day Savior records label under the direction of producer Matt Allison at Atlas Studios in Chicago , Illinois . In the absence of a contract between the recording company and the band, it is unknown who exactly has the rights to the album The Romance of Helen Trent . This is also the reason for the few new editions of the album and their rarity.
Helena Marie
Several songs contain audio recordings of a woman reporting on events in her life. The recordings are from a tape that was found in a garbage bag. The young woman to be heard is only known as "Helena Marie". Tim McIlrath said of the recordings: “None of us expected the messages in Helena Marie's audio diary to parallel the The Killing Tree message so closely. And when it did, we knew it was just meant to be. It still gives me chills sometimes. "
Limited edition
A limited edition of the album was due to be sold at the Fireside Bowl in Chicago on the June 22, 2002 release show. But due to problems with the recording and the loss of "resources" only 100 records could be made available for the performance, they were completely sold at the show. The other 200 CDs arrived later than planned and included the same artwork as the limited edition album, with only minor minor changes to the CD's appearance. These versions of the album were only sold on live shows. The standard edition of the album was released on June 25, 2002.
