The Killing Tree (also called TKT ) was a metalcore band from Chicago , Illinois . The band had their origins with Tim McIlrath (singer of Rise Against ) and also included another (former) member of Rise Against, Todd Mohney .

history

Tim McIlrath, singer of The Killing Tree Live 2006

The Killing Tree was formed before Tim McIlrath's other band, Rise Against . In an interview, McIlrath said: I used to play in a band called Baxter with Geoff Reu and Remis, and we always had an itch to do heavier music. (I originally played in a band called Baxter with Geoff Reu and Remis, and we always had a penchant for heavier music). McIlrath was certain that Rise Against's label Fat Wreck Chords would not agree that he should work with another band. Because of this, the members of The Killing Tree adopted a different identity for their recordings and performances. The Killing Tree hasn't released any EPs or albums since 2003.

The Killing Tree haven't performed live since 2004 and haven't released any other music since 2006. The official website has not been updated since August 26, 2005. To date, no plans have been made by the band to get back together.

style

The music style of Killing Tree contradicts the usual style of Rise Against. The songs are usually longer and have a strong Metal influence , as well as screaming vocals and aggressive breakdowns.
