Baxter was an American post-hardcore band from Chicago , Illinois . After their breakup in 1999, their band members formed the successful bands Rise Against and The Lawrence Arms .
history
In 1995 the band around Tim McIlrath began to play various small concerts in the Chicago area and a year later they released the cassette Troys Bucket , with which they began touring in the Midwest . In the same year they signed a contract with the independent label Static Station . Another year later they released the 7-inch Lost Voices ... which was a huge hit in the underground scene. In 1999 they separated after the publication of Eastman & Evergreen in order to devote themselves to other projects; but all in the punk or hardcore spectrum, e.g. B. Rise Against , The Killing Tree (Tim McIlrath) and The Lawrence Arms (Neil Hennessy). Even later they worked together on musical projects, such as B. on the Rise Against song Swing Life Away on Siren Song of the Counter Culture . In 2003 they released .baxter. out, a two-part recap of their musical works with some unpublished songs and demos.
