Tim McIlrath
Timothy "Tim" James McIlrath (born November 3, 1978 in Indianapolis , Indiana ) is the lead singer , rhythm guitarist and songwriter of the US punk / rock band Rise Against .
Life
McIlrath's musical career began in 1995 with the post-hardcore band Baxter , which he formed with Geoff Reu and the future drummer of The Lawrence Arms , Neil Hennessy. They recorded their first album called Troy's Bucket on cassette and published it in 1996. Baxter went with different bands like Good Riddance , Hot Water Music , slapstick and Alkaline Trio on tour . In 1997, the EP entitled Lost Voices was released on Static Station Records. After another tour, the band split. McIlrath then became bassist with the metalcore band Arma Angelus , which was led by today's Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz . After the release of the album The Grave End of the Shovel , he left the band. With the punk band The Honor System in 2000 he played four songs on the single file cassette as bassist.
In 1999 he founded Transistor Revolt with Joe Principe, Dan Wlekinski and Toni Tintari , which was later renamed Rise Against . McIlrath is the sole author of all Rise Against titles. In addition to Rise Against, he is also active in the band The Killing Tree . McIlrath is vegan and often takes part in PETA campaigns. Books and flyers from the animal rights organization are distributed at concerts .
As a result of heterochromia iridis , he has two different eye colors. While his right eye is brown in color, his left eye is blue.
