The Sessions is a Canadian indie rock - band from Vancouver .
Band history
The Sessions were founded in 2005 and existed until 2008. In 2006 they won the world's largest music group competition, the Emergenza . This year, 7,631 bands from 16 countries competed against each other. The Sessions won first place in the final in Rothenburg ob der Tauber .
The band recorded the album The Sessions Is Listed As In A Relationship with world-famous producer Bob Rock at Wharehouse Studios in Gastown, Vancouver. Two songs from the album, My Love and 18 Candles , were used for the mountain bike film Seasons by The Collective, a group of filmmakers, photographers and mountain bikers. The album is available on iTunes . The Sessions toured the western United States in February 2008, including concerts in San Francisco , Las Vegas , Hollywood, and San Diego .
Members are Martin Robert Kottmeier (born February 16, 1987), vocals and drums, as well as Tristan Norton, guitar and keyboard and also vocals. Joshua Helgason was a singer and played synthesizer, but left the band in March 2008 and later worked with Stars of Boulevard .
style
The band itself describes their style as "indie rock with British influence". It was influenced by the British rock scene and the dance movements of the New Wave in the 1980s.
