The Slapstickers is a ska band that was founded in Brühl in 1995 .

history

The band was formed in 1995, the first few months under the name Skaracho. Bands like The Busters and The Toasters shaped and continue to shape the sound of the slapstickers.

In the first few years, the band made a name for itself primarily by participating in band competitions. The band took first place in the Toys2Masters band contest in 1998 , which earned them the release of the first CD Ska Invasion .

As early as 1997, the band played as the opening act for the internationally successful ski band The Toasters. This was followed by larger concerts and tours all over Germany , sometimes as an opening act (e.g. for the Busters and for Madness ), but usually as a main group with the support of local Ska bands.

In 2000 the band won a Radio 1Live competition and appeared on the ARD series Tanja .

Despite the line-up change, the band played regularly at concerts and festivals and released several CDs. In 2005 a live album with the title a-huii !! and appearances together with the Skatalites .

In 2015 the band celebrated their 20th anniversary with an elaborate studio production with the Cologne big band The Swingcredibles.
