The Speed Kings is an American silent film directed by Wilfred Lucas from 1913. He also ran under the alternative title The Speed Kings Tetzlaff and Earl Cooper .

Mabel loves the racing driver Teddy Tetzlaff, known as the "Speed King", while her father has chosen the "Speed Demon", racing driver Earl Cooper, as her future husband. Since you want to prevent father that Teddy is a place-find shortly car race wins, he tampered with his car.
Mabel and her father go to the car race, which after many laps turns into a duel between Teddy and Earl. Mabel and her father loudly support their respective favorites and Mabel finally rushes enthusiastically onto the track during the race, where she is held back by the corpulent race director. This leads to a dispute between the race director and Mabel's father.
The race finally wins Earl as a Teddy shortly before race end Panne has. Mabel's father spontaneously promises Earl his daughter's hand, but is attacked by the race director a short time later. Both men are so absorbed in their duel that Mabel can drive away with Teddy unnoticed.
