The Story of Jewel City is an American fantasy silent film that was shot for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915. It was intended both to commemorate the opening of the Panama Canal in 1914 and to draw attention to the fact that the city of San Francisco had revived after the earthquake of 1906 .

action

Only a few columns remain of the city of San Francisco, abandoned portals of a bygone era. One day a fairy, the fairy of the portals, walks through it. In memory of the past, she captures the coldness of the poppy seeds and the scent of the roses and mixes them into a magical potion. She distributes it over the resurrected city so that you never forget how friendly the world used to be. A flight of the fairy over San Francisco shows its beauty, presents the most important buildings.

The little soldier fairy lives in an unhappy country between the rubble and the dead. For them, the fairy of the portals becomes an ambassador of peace. Both the dove of peace and her flight into the arms of the fairy of the portals lead her to happiness and love. The portals of the present open to the citizens of the world today.
