The Tract is an Austrian metal - band from Innsbruck and the genres neo thrash metal and melodic death metal attributed.
history
The band was founded in 2013 by Mario Fetz ( guitar ), Rafael Peychär (guitar) and Andreas ( drums ). In the same year Matej ( vocals ) added to the band and Fabian Guggenberger completed the line-up with the position on bass . The band performed in various clubs in Innsbruck and the surrounding areas and was also on stage in Switzerland.
In 2015, together with the famous opera singer and baritone Florian Kresser, they submitted an entry for the wildcard selection at the Eurovision Song Contest - Who sings for Austria? one, but did not reach the preliminary round.
The following year the band took part in the SPH Band Contest 2016 in Austria and qualified for the finals, which took place on December 3, 2016 in St. Pölten .
In October 2017 the five musicians signed a contract with the Cologne-based metal label "Bret Hard Records". Her first studio album Deceit near Dignity was released on May 25, 2018. In the summer of the same year, a music video for the new single with the title Freak was shot in cooperation with the Landestheater Linz . The video itself and the creative minds behind it have already received numerous honorable mentions and awards at various (online) film festivals.
style
The Tract combines diverse rhythms, varied melodies framed by blast beats and a variety of voices from growls , shouting and screaming . The five musicians attach particular importance to the mutual influence during the songwriting. Characteristic of the music of The Tract is the interplay of a harmonic lead and rhythm guitar. The songwriting is inspired by bands such as In Flames , At the Gates and Metallica .
In spring 2018 there was inevitably a change of position between Fabian and Rafael; How this and the resulting new influence of the two musicians affects the sound of the group can first be seen from the single Freak , which was released on November 2, 2018 .
