description
The Weepies were founded in 2004 by Deb Talan and Steve Tannen. In 2006, the album Say I Am You was released , followed by a tour and dozens of appearances on TV shows. The iTunes -Sales shot in eight countries No. 1 on the folk charts. Well-known musicians like Gary Lightbody or Mandy Moore supported the duo from then on. Bigger appearances like the Oxegen Festival in Ireland or the Hurricane Festival in Germany were the result.
In 2007 the musicians withdrew to recuperate after touring in 2006 and to complete a new album. This was released in 2008 under the name Hideaway .
Deb Talan and Steve Tannen got married in 2007, and their first child was born that same year. Deb Talan was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2013, 17 months after the birth of their third son .
