Thea Woost

Thea Woost (born May 13, 1931 in Lenzen (Elbe) ; † December 13, 2012 in Hamburg ) was a German politician of the SPD and a member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life and politics

Thea Woost worked as an administrative clerk until her retirement in 1991. She joined the SPD in 1972. She took on the role of district chairwoman and was the owner of the SPD district executive for Hamburg-Altona . Within the SPD, she was chairman of the “ Working Group of Social Democratic Women ” (AsF) in the Altona district. Via the AsF and the Ottensen party district, it also made it onto the list for the state election. After her parliamentary term, she took over the chairmanship of the AsF in Altona and became chairwoman of the regional seniors' advisory board . From 1983 to 1991 Thea Woost was a member of the Hamburg Parliament. Her political priorities were women's and environmental policy. Until his death in 1999, she was married to Eggert Woost , the head of the Hamburg State Film Archive and Altona district member , with whom she had a son.
