The Theater Frankfurt / Theater im Schuppen e. V. is a theater for children and adolescents founded in 1989 in Sophienstrasse 1 in Frankfurt (Oder) .

history

The Spielbühne, founded in 1989, developed into a group that has been working professionally in Frankfurt (Oder) since 1995. Since October 2006, state-recognized actors have been trained in the "Theater School for Body & Education Frankfurt (Oder)" .

Theater Frankfurt is a founding member of the "Young Theater Europe JTE" based in Grenoble and works closely with European theaters and drama schools. Since 1998 in the regional association of independent theaters in Brandenburg. Founding member of the international association for young theater in Europe (JTE).

Since 1996 the Theater im Schuppen has also been running children's and youth theater groups in Frankfurt (Oder) and the surrounding area from kindergarten through 13th grade. Under the direction of the ensemble members, projects are developed on the “Junge Bühne” with the aim of bringing a piece to the stage at the end of the year.

Theater work

In addition to Stanislawski , Brecht and Grotowski , the repertoire includes classics such as Shakespeare , Molière, as well as performative stories by Kleist and Poe or in-house productions.

A public rehearsal is scheduled once a week, which anyone who feels like can take part. Body contact training is the focus of this day. In contrast, the focus of the weekly rehearsals is on the basics of acting, working with the body, the voice, rhythm, acrobatics and juggling, and above all working together in a group. Around 40 children, young people and adults are currently working in groups. Rehearsals take place on the stage and in the theater's mirrored hall, in the shed or in other facilities.

Weekend theater workshops for drama students and those interested in theater take place here several times a year.
