The Theater Academy Cologne is a private institution for the training and further education of actors . It was founded in 1997 by Bernhard Bötel (actor, speaker, director). Robert Christott has been the owner and headmaster since the beginning of the 2013 summer semester . Patron of the school is the Kazakh theater director and Goethe Medals -carrier Bolat Atabajew . There are currently around 70 pupils in training.

The Theater Academy Cologne shows its final productions in the Orangery Theater in the Volksgarten, the Freie Werkstatt Theater and the art heater.

education

The Theaterakademie Köln is a state-recognized vocational supplementary school according to § 118 Abs. 1 SchulG NRW and recognized as equivalent to a public vocational school according to § 2 Abs. 2 BAföG . The training lasts four years and is divided into eight semesters. At the end of each semester there is an intermediate examination relevant to the transfer. The completion of the training is the stage maturity examination and the acting diploma . This is followed by the ZAV audition on the rehearsal stage of the Cologne Theater Academy.

Content

The aim of the Cologne Theater Academy is to train independent artists in the field of performing arts . This includes the possibilities of professional practice as an actor in the established theater business ( city , state and country Theater ) and in film and television, radio and synchronous.

In addition, there is a focus on training for the independent theater sector . Content such as play development, direction, dramaturgy, video editing or scenic writing also promotes artistic potential in the production area. The aim is to enable students and graduates to realize their own artistic projects and develop individual aesthetic handwriting.

The school fee is currently 495 euros per month (as of May 2013). Financing through BAföG and educational loans is possible.

Faculty

The Cologne Theater Academy team includes around 25 lecturers. Particular emphasis is placed on the fact that the students get to know as many different approaches and working methods as possible in the course of their training. The lecturers include, among others
