Brixen Theater Education Center

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Brixen Theater Education Center (TPZ Brixen) in South Tyrol emerged from the theater in the rainbow children's and youth theater association founded in 1990 by Ernst Campidell, Walter Goller, Edith Oberarzbacher, Elfriede Thöni, Judith Wieser, Astrid Katzelberger and Christa Campidell . In 1999 the association was converted into a theater education center, since the activity was no longer limited to the leisure area and no longer just to the target group of children and young people. In the meantime, people of all ages are doing theater in the TPZ Brixen, starting with rhythmic musical early support from 4 months to senior theater groups.

The association offers projects and advice on school play and school theater in South Tyrolean schools, carries out theater projects with institutions and offers two-year courses in theater education . In addition to the spoken theater groups, there are offers in the areas of dance theater and film. Since 2016 there has also been the Magic Land Musica offer , which includes rhythmic-musical early learning. All offers are based on the theater pedagogical approach of holistically encouraging people of all ages in the play of body, language and the senses and leading them to naturally real theater play. The focus of theater pedagogical work is the person playing, his thoughts and senses, his experiences and feelings, his wishes and dreams. The aim is the imaginative, creative handling of the body, voice and language and fellow human beings and fellow players (developed with Felix Rellstab on the occasion of the specialist conference "Perspectives for Youth Theater").

In Brixen every two years at the initiative of the Theater Education Center Brixen the International Children's Theater Festival Holla wind and bang instead (for teenagers). The association is also active in international exchange work.
