Theodor Bohn

Theodor Bohn (born August 30, 1826 in Kirch Grubenhagen , † April 26, 1911 in Parchim ) was a German pedagogue, cantor and organist.

Life

Theodor Bohn was born the son of a teacher. After attending the village school, he attended a preparatory institute and then worked as a private tutor. From 1848 to 1850 he completed the teachers' seminar in Ludwigslust . In 1850 Theodor Bohn was employed as a teacher at the municipal elementary school in Parchim . From 1852 to 1858 he worked as a cantor and from 1858 to 1904 he was the organist at St. Mary's Church in Parchim . From 1873 Bohn took on a teaching post as a teacher of French and English at the boys' middle school in Parchim. He worked here until 1891.

Theodor Bohn was co-founder in 1868 and from 1882 to 1895 chairman of the state teachers' association (honorary president), in 1871 co-founder of the fire insurance association of Mecklenburg teachers and until 1904 chairman of the association.
