Theodor Claessen

Carl Theodor Hubert Claessen (born January 27, 1821 in Erkelenz ; † August 18, 1898 in Erkelenz) was a German notary and parliamentarian.

Life

Theodor Claessen was a son of the notary August Claessen (* 1777 in Keyenberg , † 1854 in Erkelenz) and Franziska born Korschilgen (* 1785 in Cologne, † 1859 in Erkelenz). He had eleven siblings, three of whom died in childhood. His brother Gustav Claessen (1816–1875) became district administrator of the Erkelenz district , his brother Heinrich Claessen (1813–1883) a member of the Erfurt Union Parliament. Theodor Claessen married Josephine Spieß in 1851 (* May 4, 1822 in Erkelenz, † November 24, 1906 in Erkelenz).

Theodor Claessen studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, among others . In 1842 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Bonn . After graduating, he became a regional court assessor in Aachen . He later worked as a notary in Adenau , Randerath and Erkelenz. He was appointed to the judiciary.

Claessen was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency Aachen 3 in 1855 . At the beginning of the 2nd session on November 29, 1856, he resigned from his seat.
