Theodor Ferdinand Hurtzig

Theodor Ferdinand Hurtzig (born February 9, 1833 in Oberndorf, † December 6, 1911 in Hanover ) was a German administrative lawyer and politician.

Life

Hurtzig studied at the Georg August University in Göttingen and the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg . In 1853 he became a member of the Corps Bremensia Göttingen . In the same year he joined the Corps Vandalia Heidelberg . After completing his studies, he entered the civil service and became a government assessor in Lüneburg . From there he went to Hanover as Fire Fund Director and Director of the Hanoverian Boden-Kredit-Bank.

From 1870 to 1874 Hurtzig sat as a member of the constituency of Hanover 27 (Dannenberg) in the Prussian House of Representatives . He belonged to the faction of the National Liberal Party . On May 21, 1874, he lost his seat in the House of Representatives by declaring himself invalid. From 1893 to 1903 Hurtzig was a member of the central executive committee of the National Liberal Party.

Theodor Ferdinand Hurtzig married Gertrud Auguste Julie Eleonore Oberg (born February 18, 1847 in Hildesheim, † September 15, 1909 in Hanover) in Stade in 1867, the youngest daughter of the lawyer and MP August Heinrich Oberg . The couple had four sons and two daughters.
