Theodor Hausmann (clergyman)
Theodor Hausmann OSB (* as Dieter Hausmann on July 12, 1963 in Augsburg ) is a German religious. He is the tenth abbot of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Stephan in Augsburg.
Life
After graduating from high school in 1983, Hausmann entered the St. Stephan monastery at the associated grammar school . He has been teaching religion and history there since 1990. In 1991 he received the then Bishop of Augsburg Josef Stimpfle the priesthood .
After Abbot Emmeram Kränkl had declared his resignation in May 2006, the convent elected Father Theodor in September 2006, initially for three years as Prior Administrator and on May 3, 2009 as Abbot. The Benediction in the High Cathedral was donated on July 3, 2009 by Bishop Walter Mixa . Abbot Theodor Deus chose salvator meus et non timebo ( Isa 12,2 EU ) as a motto .
In April 2012 Abbot Theodor was elected chairman of the Salzburg Abbots' Conference .
