Theodor Koch

Theodor Koch (born May 13, 1905 in Zuffenhausen ; † October 21, 1976 in Oberndorf am Neckar ) was a German engineer , entrepreneur, arms manufacturer and co-founder of the Heckler & Koch company .

Life

After completing his apprenticeship in May 1924, he began studying mechanical engineering at the Württemberg State Higher Mechanical Engineering School in Esslingen am Neckar . From May 1929 to September 1931 he worked as an engineer at Mauser AG in Oberndorf am Neckar . He then worked as a foreman on construction until February 1933 and from March to June 1933 at the United Ball Bearings Factory in Stuttgart. He then worked again for the Mauser company from July / August 1933 to the end of May 1949, among other things as operations manager for materials and fixture construction.

On December 28, 1949, together with Edmund Heckler and Alex Seidel, he founded Heckler & Koch GmbH , which later became one of the most important German armaments companies of the post-war period.
