Theodor M. Bardmann (* 1955 ) is a German sociologist , systems theorist and university professor . He is professor for media communication at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Mönchengladbach and private lecturer for sociology at RWTH Aachen University .

Life

Theodor M. Bardmann studied sociology from 1975 to 1981 at the University of Bielefeld , and from 1978 to 1980 photo and film technology at the design department of the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences . From 1982 to 1986 he was in free youth work for the city of Aachen. During his time in Bielefeld, Bardmann was a student of Niklas Luhmann .

In 1985 he received his doctorate at the Philosophical Faculty of RWTH Aachen University with the dissertation “Die misunderstandene Freizeit.
