Theresa Diane Riedl (born July 9, 1965 in Saddle Brook , New Jersey ) is a former American luge athlete .
Riedl grew up in New Jersey, but moved to Lake Placid , New York, to practice sledding . In 1984 she was able to qualify for the Winter Olympics. In Sarajevo , she took 19th place.
She worked as a tour guide and later as a nurse. Riedl joined the army and worked there as an air traffic controller for the US Air Force .
